The Association

Thalia started in the beginning of 2024, when two friends realized there was no such thing yet in Wageningen. They were looking for a place to discuss feminist-related topics and maybe even make some friends that felt the same way in the process. They quickly started organizing activities and soon more people joined. Activities like a Barbie Movie night, a Guest Lecture on Menstrual Disorders, and a self-defence workshop were organized and a board was set up. Currently the association is very active and committees are being set up.

The main goal of Thalia is to create an intersectional feminist community to learn about gender equity and work towards achieving this within the Wageningen University Community. For further explanation on this there is the Principles of Thalia document. The main way of communication is the Thalia WhatsApp Interest Group, which can be joined by sending a mail to thalia.wur@gmail.com. Upcoming events are also uploaded to our Instagram.
